Fred Ranallo Higgins
Frederick M. Ranallo-Higgins is the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Buddhism Public Scholar and Associate Editor at
Tricycle The Buddhist Review
, a premier independent, nonsectarian Buddhist quarterly that publishes Buddhist teachings, practices, and critiques. An experienced educator and administrator with a demonstrated history of working in higher education and nonprofit administration, Frederick contributes board management and strategic planning skills; and as a previous Title IX Coordinator, he brings a passion for civil rights enforcement and policy development. Inspired by galaei’s commitment to radical social justice and to fighting systemic oppression, structural racism, discrimination, and white supremacy, Frederick hopes his educational, administrative, and board management experience and his desire to serve Philadelphia’s QTBIPoC community will aid galaei in fulfilling its important mission. Frederick graduated from the University of Colorado in Art History and Religious Studies, received his MA from Columbia University in Korean Studies, and received his Ph.D. from UCLA in East Asian Languages and Cultures, with an emphasis on Korean Religious History.
